Do you have technical expertise in live sound and would you like to work with the production team to create a unique concert experience for both audience and performers, day in, day out? If so, you’re the right person for the job, as we’re looking for two sound engineers with knowledge of IT and networking (m/f/x).
Ancienne Belgique is the vibrant music venue in the heart of Brussels. With around 400 concerts and more than 390,000 visitors a year, it ranks among Europe’s leading concert halls. All this is managed by a motivated and professional team of 70 permanent staff.
Job description
- You will be responsible for the sound mix for FOH or monitors.
- You will be responsible for providing technical support to staff, performers and their crew in all AB spaces and in off-site projects.
- You will maintain the technical equipment.
- You will contribute creative ideas for the planning and management of all our events.
- You will be responsible for processing the technical riders and preparing the productions based on them.
- You will be jointly responsible for the installation, management and maintenance of the sound infrastructure.
- You will be able to identify and resolve technical issues and finish projects to a high standard.
Profile
- You have extensive experience as a sound engineer.
- You have in-depth knowledge of live sound engineering at international level.
- You keep a close eye on trends and technologies.
- You have knowledge of audio software (recording, frequency coordination, digital mixing desks, etc.)
- You are familiar with audio over Ethernet, MADI, Dante and word clock.
- You have a basic understanding of network technologies and protocols.
- You are sociable and have good communication skills.
- You are service-minded and cope well under pressure.
- You work well as part of a team, but are also able to work independently.
- You live in Brussels or the surrounding area.
- You are flexible: working evenings and at weekends comes with the job and is not a problem for you.
- You are a Dutch speaker with a good knowledge of French and English.
What we are offering
- A full-time permanent white-collar contract, with a start date to be agreed, ideally 1 September 2026.
- Remuneration in accordance with the scales of Joint Committee 304, pay grade B.
