2 knock-outs from Ghent present a new album
February 2006 ... Ghent is shaken to its foundations when Ian Clement, Sylvester Vanborm and Dries Hoof first ascend a stage as holy rock-trinityKapitan Korsakov debuted strongly at the end of 2009 with ‘Well Hunger’: An uncompromising noise-excursion drenched in sonic nastiness. The furious intro on the single 'When We Were Hookers' was chosen by Select (Studio Brussel) as the most searing guitar-riff of 2009 and the threesome from Ghent effortlessly managed to convince the crowds, with highlights at the likes Boomtown, Domino, Dour, Rock Herk and Pukkelpop. In 2012, on the new album ‘Stuff & Such’, Kapitan Korsakov still bathes in the mud-puddle of dirty guitars, monster vocals and a dirty rhythm section but they also dare to experiment with melody, acoustic guitars and banjo. Kapitan Korsakov's latest album proves – successfully – that aside from writing juicy riffs they can also write good songs: Kapitan Korsakov at his best!
