Dark folk with a golden tinge

Release a new song every week for a whole year. That is the project Amsterdam singer-songwriter VanWyck started in September 2015. The first two songs earned her immediate praise on French, English and American blogs. Listeners of ‘Fresh on the Net’ in England voted her track Walk on Water into the top ten of best new acts: ‘Music for the down at heel with sounds to warm the coldest of hearts’.

The intense and intimate music of this Amsterdam singer-songwriter tugs at the heartstrings. Her songs shimmer with melancholy and longing, and transport us across jagged coastlines, deep chasms and enchanting landscapes. ‘Like a warm blanket for the soul’, as one American blogger described it.
