Matinee with ever clever, playful, raring-to-go pop!
Right off the bat, to borrow a 'Nitszeggend'* (=‘meaningless’) message: 'Nits has been Holland’s most elusive band for forty five years now. With their idiosyncratic oeuvre and hits like 'In The Dutch Mountains', 'Nescio' and 'Adieu, Sweet Bahnhof' they established a loyal following of fans worldwide. Nits is a memorable experience live. Their concerts display vitality, humour, virtuosity and a deep European melancholy. Always with tongue in cheek.
After a theatre excursion, a creative collaboration with the Scapino Ballet, the band from Amsterdam that encompasses Henk Hofstede, Rob Kloet and Robert Jan Stips then threw itself back into music. They still do it with the same childlike curiosity as in the early years. New songs have their debut on stage, the band seeks and finds. Classics are pulled apart and put back together in a new way, as is befitting of the best art-pop traditions.'
Fun fact
Always fun, they are sure to bring a smile to your and their faces!* And make up a few 'Nitsontziende' (=‘merciless’) variants that play on their name in the meantime! (As you may have noticed, this works best in Dutch!)
Have already visited more than a dozen times since 1989. Now again, just before Christmas, on a Sunday afternoon: your warm winter matinee!
