Concert by Scottish artist / filmmaker / sound artist
Luke Fowler (1978) is an artist, filmmaker and musician. He creates impressionist portraits of intriguing figures that are often incorrectly interpreted or forgotten by popular media. In his montages, he combines his archive material with new recordings, interviews, photography and sound. He makes special sound-landscapes in which each piece focusses upon a specific visual subject that Fowler gives his unique touch. He has already worked with the likes of Richard Youngs (Dekorder), Eric La Casa and Toshiya Tsunoda for his musical projects.
Born in Glasgow, he studied there at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art. He received the inaugural Jarman Award in 2008 and he was later, in 2012, also nominated for the prestigious Turner Prize.
