Electronica pioneers and founding fathers of Ninja Tune celebrate 30th anniversary

WHAT?
Coldcut is DJ/AV/electronica innovators duo Matt Black & Jonathan More. In ’87 they were responsible for the UK’s very first breaks track that consisted entirely of samples: ‘Say Kids What Time is it?’. With the establishment of Ninja Tune, they launched one of the most innovative dance labels ever and their ‘Paid In Full’ remix of Eric B & Rakim is an über classic. Time to party!

FOR FANS OF
Ninja Tune, Journey By DJ’s, Leftfield, Orbital, Breakbeats.

AB TRIVIA
It will be exactly 20 years since Coldcut first appeared in AB.

PROGRAMMER
Kurt Overbergh: ‘Coldcut’s Ninja Tune-avonden in AB waren legendarisch. Keer op keer verbaasde Coldcut ons: hun AV-shows waren baanbrekend en de keure aan gasten die ze meebrachten – Roots Manuva, Amon Tobin, The Cinematic Orchestra,… -  werden allen sterren an sich.

FUN FACT
Impressive Coldcut quote: ‘We turned down more remixes than we did. Foolishly we turned down The Rolling Stones.’
