Sinking Ships, Rocketing Career!
ConcertWho appeared at Werchter three times this summer? The Classic episode with Springsteen, the Boudisque version with Muse and the four-day marathon with even more strong competition! That's right: Balthazar!
De Morgen after one of those visits: 'dark grandeur 4,5/5... a cocktail of despondency... thriving on self-assured nonchalance... every stroke in just the right place... unceasingly building to a climax... no compromises... melancholy sound carpet... old school grandeur...'
Who also appeared 'in his best suit' on the cover of Le Soir Victoire? But most importantly: who's touring Sweden, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland... until in the Sportpaleis with Editors near the end of the year!? That's right: Balthazar is doing the entire tour too.
All that in the wake of that very, very well-received second CD 'Rats' (via Pias). Impressive stuff and a prosperous rocking route for this fivesome from the Kortrijk-Ghent axis and, by the way, also receivers of major distinctions at Kunstbende, Rock Rally and the MIA's in recent years.
Applause (and that was also the title of their 2010 debut)!
