We are looking for a lighting coordinator to join our production team.
Ancienne Belgique is a vibrant concert hall in the heart of Brussels, keen to embrace both young talent and established artists. It is both niche and mainstream, adventurous and genre-transcending. Through some 400 concerts and projects a year, we aim to provide an unforgettable experience for our more than 330,000 visitors. All this is managed by a motivated team of 65 permanent staff.
Assignment
- As lighting coordinator, you are responsible for all lighting and video aspects of AB’s concerts and project work.
- You develop a high-quality lighting and video policy. You keep up to date with the latest developments in your field and know how to integrate them into AB’s operations. You identify and implement innovative and sustainable technologies and equipment.
- You manage the lighting team. You draw up work schedules for both permanent and freelance technicians. You coach and develop the lighting team to enhance their motivation and skills.
- You are an important link person between your team and other teams and the management team. You maintain a clear flow of information, keeping everyone up to date and engaged.
- You analyse the extent to which AB is able to meet the demand from artists and external parties, and you make clear agreements in consultation with the artistic and production team.
- You process technical riders and are responsible for implementing or designing lighting and video plans.
- You manage and maintain the technical installations within the lighting unit in accordance with AB's quality and safety criteria.
- You check that the equipment, products and procedures in use are compliant with safety regulations and apply the regulations rigorously. You alert employees to potential risks and inform them about preventive measures.
Profile
- You are an experienced lighting technician. Experience of managing a team is an advantage.
- You have strong leadership skills. You adopt an inspiring, motivational leadership style that fosters commitment.
- You are a team player who encourages collaboration and knows how to build support.
- You have both operational and strategic strengths. You work proactively and focus on solutions, but you also keep the long term in mind.
- You have proven experience of project management, planning and budgeting.
- You have extensive technical knowledge of lighting control and networks (grandMA2/3, ChamSys, DMX, Artnet and sACN), video projection, Resolume, Q-lab, ArKaos, rigging and tensile walls.
- You are able to configure, maintain and troubleshoot complex systems in a live concert environment.
- You have sufficient understanding of concert production and knowledge of audio to act as a sounding-board for your colleagues.
- You are able to express yourself fluently in Dutch, French and English.
- You are familiar with the uniqueness of the cultural and music sector. You are willing to work in the evenings and at weekends.
- You are passionate about Brussels, music and AB in particular.
