Impassioned, mesmerising and compromising
YHWH Nailgun, pronounced Yahweh, began making music with the aim of creating a style that did not yet exist, but that the band itself wanted to hear. With debut album 45 Pounds, it seems to have succeeded.
The foursome, consisting of Zack Borzone (vocals), Jack Tobias (synths), Sam Pickard (drums) and Saguiv Rosenstock (guitar), has an innate talent for transforming primitive energy into a modern form. ‘The experimental group from New York combines blazing synths, nauseating drumlines and driving guitars into a raw and penetrating mix of grindcore sounds,’ says The Line Of Best Fit.
The result is an explosive mix of industrial noise, electronic dance, grindcore and punk funk. Despite their young career, they have already performed at major festivals such as Best Kept Secret and Pitchfork Music Festival, as well as AB's indoor festival BRDCST. So it was time for their own show at AB Club.
