Very relevant, very good, very cool West Coast neo-Seventies pop-rock!
A few measures into their music and you’re already imagining yourself on Highway 1, in a car with an open roof, driving along the Pacific Ocean and the waving Californian palm trees. What were Andy Platts (frontman of English band Mamas Gun) and American Shawn Lee (known from his own Ping Pong Orchestra and known as producer for the likes of Jeff Buckley, Amy Winehouse and Lana Del Rey) listening to when they reconstructed that melodious soft-pop of 40 years past? Quite clearly: The Doobie Brothers (particularly with Michael McDonald), Steely Dan, Loggins & Messina, Hall & Oates, Gallagher & Lyle, Seals & Crofts and The Eagles!
