Kraak & AB present: unique evening with two leading artists of the avant-garde
Sarah Davachi
Canadian composer Sarah Davachi investigates the mystics of harmonics (higher tones that accompany played tones) and spectral music. She filters old musical theories through the lens of new technologies like synthesized sound and atonal arrangements. Her instruments are the legendary Buchla and EMS synthi, combined with organ and violin. She can be considered a powerful new voice within the branch of electronic music to which grandmasters Eliane Radigue and Laurie Spiegel also belong.
Léa Bertucci
Bass clarinet player and composer Léa Bertucci is a new rising star in New York’s Underground. She explores the musical qualities of space and harmonics in graphic scores, internal feedback systems and multichannel installations. Her most recent album ‘All that is solid melts into air’ (NNA records) is a wonderful exercise in sonic alchemy whereby she converts the basic ingredients of sound into pure gold. During this brief tour she will be presenting work with tape and alto sax.
