Pure songwriter splendour with a dark undertone
In light of recent developments in the spread of the COVID-19 virus, which is a very fast-moving situation, AB will be closing its doors until May the 3rd.
All concerts until 3rd of May will be suspended, and rescheduled where possible. We have mobilised the entire team and are working hard to find the best solution for each event. Individual concerts may be postponed or cancelled. If a concert is postponed, any tickets purchased will be valid for the rescheduled date. If a concert is cancelled, all tickets will be automatically refunded.
Richard Dawson, the avant-garde singer-songwriter from Newcastle, is back with his sixth solo album ‘2020’. In contrast to much-praised predecessor ‘Peasant’, ‘2020’ is a contemporary reflection of a tumultuous and sombre moment in time. Dawson writes about an island in a state of change, a society on the brink of mental breakdown, England today.

In the press ‘2020 is a reminder of the need for basic decency in a country that is forgetting it, voiced by the most brilliant and humane songwriter working here today’ – ***** The Guardian
