Country soul who impressed as support to Matthew E. White.
My Morning Jacket, Gram Parsons and Mark Kozelek (Sun Kil Moon/Red House Painters): that's exactly where you can situate America's Night Beds. Instant asset is the impressive voice of Nashville-resident frontman Winston Yellen. Just take a listen to the track ‘Ramona’ and you'll understand why AB and Matthew E. White – who took them along on tour this spring – fell for them.
The album ‘Country Sleep’ was released earlier this year. It was recorded, in part, in a house deep in the woods of Nashville, one that was once occupied by Johnny Cash and June Carter. According to Yellen, the band's name is “tongue in cheek, but a lot of the music was developed at night, from listening to, or writing in my bed."
