Pop, where Est meets West
07:00 pm Doors / DJ Brett Summers
08:00 pm Bibles
09:00 pm Ewert & The Two Dragons
10:30 pm Curfew
c'est la 3ème fois que je les vois et c'est à chaque fois du pur bonheur. J'en veux encore et encore
It's possible in the wonderful world of pop: creating beautiful songs in Estonia and cheerfully scoring internationally with them.
It happened for Ewert & The Two Dragons here too, especially with the extra catchy '(In The End) There's Only Love.'
By the way, don't let yourself be misled by the name: Ewert & Co is no trio but the 'classic' rock quartet encompassing singer Ewert Sundja, guitarist Erki Pärnoja, bassist Ivo Etti and drummer Kristjan Kallas.
Apparently they already have two CDs to their name since 2009: The Hills Behind The Hills and Good Man Down. High time then for a brand new collection of pop gems in 2015, here via Warner.
Oh and for the record: Ewert & The Two Dragons do actually sing in English!
Support-act will be locals Bibles, who have now completed recordings (no, not psalms) on Sony and so to read from a previous visit: 'Bouncy indie-pop indebted to Vampire Weekend, Sebadoh and Belgium's Team William. The four were selected by School Is Cool in the previous edition of Stubru’s De Nieuwe Lichting and they have already dived into the studio with Floris De Decker of Team William. More than enough infectiousness!'
