Unique film performance with live musical support
'Where should Music go?' Arsenal has been wrestling with that question throughout 3 films. In Birdsong (2019), she ended up in prostitution and in Dance Dance Dance (2014), she drowned and became a ghost. She will definitely also get in trouble in Jungle Hotel. Filmed in Nigeria, Madagascar, Brussels and Warsaw, and assisted live by John Roan (Vocals, guitar), Hendrik Willemyns tells the story of an ageing writer (Jurgen Delnaet - Collision in Moscow, Martian) who wants to leave his wife and is forced by a storm to spend a night in a hotel, thinking about it. Using film, dance-music and theatre techniques in an original way, Arsenal succeeds in bringing that storm to life, with a FilmConcert that aims not at the legs but at the head and the heart.
The film is mainly in English, but also a lot of Polish and Yoruba, a Nigerian language. It is subtitled in both Dutch and English.
