Listening-session for Jimi Hendrix’ fabulous debut album
WHAT
AB & HUMO present the Classic Album listening-sessions
Regularly experience the favourite golden albums of the TTT editorial department at a nostalgic AB listening-session in Huis 23. Each record will be introduced by a Humo journalist and followed by a subsequent listening-session of the album.
Passing in revue this year: the likes of Radiohead, The Beatles, Wu-Tang Clan, The Verve, The Rolling Stones and pretty much the entire TTT editorial department from HUMO!
On May 12 it was exactly 50 years ago that Jimi Hendrix released his debut album ‘Are You Experienced '. The album was an immediate success, confirmed the artist’s songwriting ability & masterful guitar work and is generally considered to be one of the best debut albums ever.
Before we listen to the album in its entirety, Humo journalist Jurgen Beckers will introduce the listening session in Flemish.

IN THE PRESS
‘This is the sound of the future arriving; tacky, awkward, inspirational, exciting, perplexing and sometimes contradictory for sure, but the future nonetheless.’ - BBC
‘Are You Experienced? was the summer of love, debut, and it sounded like divine madness - 'Purple Haze,' I Don't Live Today,' 'Manic Depression' and 'Fire' were all feedback finesse and arrogant virtuosity wrapped around lyrics sprung from primal wondering, lust and fear.’ - Rolling Stone
