It feels rather weird to give an overview of the more than successful operating year 2019 in these culturally less prosperous times! It was a GRAND CRU, a year in which AB blew out 40 candles andcelebrated that with 333,000 visitors. We dove deep into our own history and new projects saw the light of the stage. Local talent received more support than ever (AB was filled for 40% by Belgians). Values such as sustainability, social responsibility, anchoring at a local and international level, and supporting young talent were of great importance to us.
This review of 2019 reinforced our will to work hard on behind-the-scenes plans so that we can return stronger once we are allowed to throw open our doors again, post-corona.
