Met zijn derde studioalbum It’s Been Awful breidt Isaiah Rashad zijn muzikale wereld uit voorbij hiphop, met invloeden uit cosmic jazz, psychedelische gitaarrock, neo-soul en genre-overstijgende experimenten.

Na vijf transformerende jaren levert Rashad zijn meest kwetsbare en uitgepuurde werk tot nu toe af: een ongefilterde reflectie op verslaving, persoonlijke groei, zelfconfrontatie en verlossing. Sinds hij in 2012 doorbrak vanuit Chattanooga, Tennessee, bouwde hij een van de meest invloedrijke en emotioneel beklijvende catalogi binnen de moderne rap op.

Met zijn debuut Cilvia Demo (2018) vestigde hij zich meteen als een belangrijke kracht binnen de muziekwereld. The House Is Burning (2021) verstevigde zijn culturele impact verder. Het album verzamelde wereldwijd bijna één miljard streams en kreeg veel lof voor zijn introspectieve vertelstijl en muzikale ontwikkeling.
