Dit concert gaat door vanaf 22u30 in de AB Club. Tickethouders voor het Foals-concert kunnen dit concert, na de show in de grote zaal, gratis bijwonen.

Wat bindt Hudson Mohawke, Charlotte Gainsbourg én de Nieuw-Zeelander Connan Mockasin? Tik. Tik. Tik. Time out! Het antwoord luidt: Egyptian Hip Hop. Dit electro pop kwartet uit Manchester debuteerde in ’10 met de wisselvallige EP ‘Some Reptiles Grew Wings’, ondanks het feit dat het door de magische handen ging van producer Hudson Mohawke (inmiddels ½ van TNGHT). In naweeën van hun debuut-EP tourde zanger/frontman Alex Hewitt – de oplossing is nabij - als bandlid van, jawel, Charlotte Gainsbourg en Connan Mockasin.

Enter ’12: ‘Good Don’t Sleep’, het debuutalbum van Egyptian Hip Hop ziet het daglicht op het Belgische R&S die de jongste jaren aan een flinke remonte bezig is sinds zijn hoogdagen eind ‘80/begin ’90. De buitenlandse pers gaat meteen overstag: “At times they evoke the lush beauty of Cocteau Twins.” schrijft The Guardian en Pitchfork gebruikt de letters van het alfabet om volgende zin te vormen: “Egyptian Hip Hop sound weird, otherworldly, and exciting.”. Wij zijn alvast fel benieuwd naar hun live set in de intieme AB Club.
