Combitickets Amenra + Consouling Sounds.
After the intriguing collaboration on AB’s quirky BRDCST festival ’16 & ’17, there’s no longer any need for us to tell you that Ghent’s radical Consouling Sounds is one of AB’s favourite underground labels. That’s why, in the wake of Amenra’s ‘Mass VI’ release, we again dive into the musical abyss with them and dish you up a series of exciting, obscure talent that has Consouling Sounds as homebase. Looking forward to an intense evening full of too-good-to-be-missed gloom!
Wiegedood bares their apparently pitch-black soul by means of searing black metal on ‘De Doden Hebben het Goed I & II’. With members of Oathbreaker, Amenra and Rise And Fall who come to pulverize anything that crosses their path live …
CHVE vs SYNDROME
Dark liaison between two figureheads of Amenra – frontman Colin H. Van Eeckhout & guitarist Mathieu Vandekerckhove – who together exorcise their inner demons armed with hurdy-gurdy, guitar and throat. They probe the boundaries of post-rock, ambient, folk, drone and minimalistic electronica. Listening-music – melancholy, subtle and introspective.
The one-man project of visual artist and multi-instrumentalist Josh Graham (A Storm of Light, ex-Neurosis, ex-Red Sparowes, ex-Battle of Mice) harbours intergalactic soundscapes and on his latest longplayer ‘Invasion’ (out on Consouling Sounds since 30/06, how could it not be?) he winks to 80’s film music on the one hand and typical Berlin ambient on the other. Always accompanied by his impressive self-made visuals live, Graham has also provided images for the likes of Soundgarden, JAY-Z, Drake, Mastodon and Foo Fighters.
In this tale: Colin H. Van Eeckhout & Mathieu Vandekerckhove, together with French graphic & sound artist Dehn Sora (known for his solo project Treha Sektori), explore the wonderful world of apocalyptic soundscapes and dark ambient.
Dark future bass duo (An-Sofie De Meyer – vocals, sampler & Tim De Gieter – synths, beats, production) that debuts in October ’17 on Consouling Records with a mesmerizing mix of haunted/witch house and trippy song that works on the hips and puts a lump in the throat.
