Indie-folk for endless train trips to unknown destinations

Do you sometimes listen to the 'Your favorite coffeehouse' playlist on Spotify? Then you won’t have missed the wonderful sound of The Paper Kites. The indie-folk five from Melbourne, Australia, know how to play the sensitive heart strings with dreamy tracks for melancholy evenings. Their new album 'On the Corner Where You Live' will be released on September 21 and in February they will appear entirely live in AB.

Even though I'm not a die-hard fan, I have to say that the Paper Kites gave a really good concert last night at AB. Good mixture of fast(er) and slow songs, occasionally interrupted by very witty comments from the lead singer, who kind of pointed out that he writes sad songs for (obviously) sad people. The band performed in unison, which was particularly underlined by choir-like singing in few songs. There were no extatic moments, because the PK are not that kind of band, but more than a few will resonate in my mind for some time.
Absoluut TOP concert.
