One of the most brilliant guitarists of this generation
Experimental guitarist Richard Bishop has been releasing solo work since 1998 and has already toured with the likes of Will Oldham, Bill Callahan, Animal Collective and Devendra Banhart. His compositions are strongly influenced by music from India, the Middle East and North Africa, and he is a virtuoso guitarist who creates his very own, characteristic sound.
Bishop may be best known for his Sun City Girls that disbanded in 2007 (after 26 years) and with which he, his brother Alan, and Charles Cocher (†2007) managed to inspire an entire generation of experimental musicians. He is also co-founder of the brilliant Sublime Frequencies label.
