Mourning [A] BLKstar is a collective of musicians, writers and multimedia artists formed in Cleveand, Ohio. On their website they describe themselves as 'a multi-generational, gender and genre non-conforming amalgam of Black Culture dedicated to servicing the stories and songs of the apocalyptic diaspora. 

Their rich, eclectic sound fuses funk, lo-fi soul and hip-hop with jazz influences and 90s beats, which has garnered rave reviews since its first release. The Wire wrote about their latest album 'The Cylce': 'Everything about The Cycle feels alert, vibrant and necessary'.
