« Rheia », troisième album phénoménal qui prend à la gorge
Rares sont les groupes belges qui peuvent se targuer d’une critique Pitchfork – et, qui plus est, une critique avec des louanges pareilles : « they’ve expanded their scope without losing their rage. The album transforms their own abilities and the breadth of the much heralded – and derided – black metal-shoegaze fusion. Without sacrificing extremity, they captured the spirit of metal, not just the sound ». « Rheia », troisième rejeton d’Oathbreaker – avec Jack Shirley (Deafheaven) aux commandes et signé une fois de plus sur l’excellent Deathwish – est effectivement « a true game changer » dans le genre du post-/black metal, où rôdent notamment Deafheaven, Wolves In The Throne Room, Cobalt et Liturgy (pour « The Ark Work » de 2015).
Après Amenra, Raketkanon et Steak Number Eight, voici un nouveau groupe belge extrême qui fait un véritable malheur à l’étranger et dont nous avons tout lieu d’être fiers !
