Stellar & electrifying US rhythm & blues rockabilly
'Hailing from Oklahoma' as they say in America. Or also: 'Hi-Style recording artist JD McPherson.'
Apparently he has already appeared here before, in the Trix in Antwerp. And they know something about 'authentic, stellar, electrifying US rhythm & blues rockabilly with post-structural lyrics and arrangements' there.
The Hi-Style label got JD to Chicago for the recording of his debut 'Signs & Signifiers', recorded on an 'old 1960's Berlant 1/4 inch tape machine.'
Then there was a 'digital EP' with the cosy title 'The Warm Covers'. On his website he promises new work for 2015, to be heard in preview, exclusively, during the concerts!!
Even more name-dropping? They themselves refer to Little Richard, James Brown, Charlie Feathers...
