Met het album wil ze haar frustraties en negatieve energie omzetten in iets positiefs: âThis is a note to myself: everybody's trying their best on their own set of problems and goals. We're all working for something.â Â Pitchfork pikte het album meteen op als âbest new musicâ.Â
âMelina Duterte's careful, wise, and excellent album is the rare debut that expands the borders of a genre. It's not bedroom-pop because it sounds a certain way, but because it feels so intimate.â â Pitchfork over Everybody Works - Jay SomâShe crafts intelligent folk-pop that balances the darkness and light of human emotion.â - The Independent over Pitou
