Why you should use public transport to get to AB: it's good for the environment and for your wallet

About 2 years ago, AB got together with NMBS and MIVB to put our collective ‘greenest’ foot forward. This approach has meant that an increasing number of people are leaving their cars at home for a concert night out. Good for the environment, the traffic jams and for the wallet!

For two years now, every AB ticket has had an MIVB and an NMBS code printed on it. With the MIVB’s Event Pass, you can travel entirely free of charge on Brussels’ bus, tram and metro on the day of the concert. With the NMBS’ e-train ticket, you pay only 9 euro for a return ticket from any station in Belgium to Brussel Centraal. This code is personal, in your name, and cannot be transferred to anyone else.

Brussel-Centraal station is about a 10 minute walk from the AB. And here comes the best news: our concerts end at 10:30pm so that you can make the last train home!

Besides, a low emission zone will be in effect in Brussels as of 1 January 2018. This new measure forbids diesel vehicles with Euro 1-norm, or without Euro norm, to drive around in Brussels. The LEZ will be applicable every day of the week, 24 hours a day, in the entire Brussels Capital Region.

So there’s no longer any reason to come to Brussels by car, and our music lovers have gotten the message!

From the results of our recently conducted audience survey, it turns out that 50% of visitors to AB usually use public transport to get to here. What’s more, 95% of these users are satisfied or very satisfied about AB’s accessibility!

Aside from public transport, there are also other advantageous and environmentally friendly ways to reach AB too. Our location is easily accessible by bike, via the regional cycling routes from Anderlecht, Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe, Jette, Bosvoorde,... What’s more, AB offers parking space for foldable bikes – so there’s no risk of heading home with a bell or wheel less than you arrived.

You live a bit too far? Car-pooling can be an option. Admit it, sharing a car is also a lot more fun. You can easily find a ride or here or take a look in the discussion on the Facebook event!

You really can’t distance yourself from your beloved vehicle? Then park it at one of the peripheral parking areas at the edge of the city and avoid traffic jams and a long search for a parking place in the centre!

You can find all the info about the eventpass and the e-train ticket here and here. More questions? Find your answers in our faq here or here.
