DESCRIPTION:Zita Swoon Group has been presenting itself as a changeable\ncollective of musicians lately. The most recent outing of\nwhich is the project ‘Wait For Me’\, a collaboration\nwith musicians from Burkina Faso. ‘Wait For Me’ situates\nitself at the meeting point of African rhythms and Western\nblues. Mamadou Diabaté Kibié (grandmaster of the\nbalaphone) and excellent singer Awa Démé (with her raw\ntimbre) provided the African input. The CD of the same name\nis to appear in early 2012 and\, to celebrate\, the magical\nZitafrica will play ‘Wait For Me’ in AB. The shows in\n2011 were a success. Full halls and highly commending\nreviews like ‘****’ in De Standaard or this one in Focus\nKnack: ‘Wait For Me’ was a hit in every sense: an\norganic project with depth\, one with which Stef Kamil\nCarlens yet again indicates that he still seeks the artistic\nchallenge.”.
