DESCRIPTION:Concert by one of the best known Polish bands that\nsuccessfully combines traditional music with modern sounds\nand rock aesthetics. Zakopower’s music\, described by some\nas folk rock\, cannot be classified in a simple way.\nInspired by the traditional music of Podhale (a mountainous\nregion in the south of Poland)\, their music contains both\nelements of rock\, jazz influences and even African beats\,\nwhich give an authentic\, unique and extremely explosive\nmixture. Musical energy is Zakopower’s showcase\, which is\nreflected in the group’s name. The name is also a wordplay\nreferring to the name of the city of Zakopane\, the winter\ncapital of Poland situated in the Tatra Mountains. The\ncharismatic lead singer\, Sebastian Karpiel-Bułecka\, just\nlike most of members of the group\, comes from the Podhale\nregion and identifies himself strongly with its culture.\nZakopower’s repertoire includes characteristic highlander\nrhythms and traces of traditional songs\, but thanks to\noriginal compositions and arrangements they achieve\ndistinctively contemporary sound. Zakopower uses\ntraditional\, folk instruments (violin\, basses) alongside\ntrumpets\, guitars\, synthesizers\, drums and expressive\nvocals.
