DESCRIPTION:Native! Heartwarming! A full AB last time too. Xavier Rudd\nis the max for a sexy\, enjoyable and healthy sound. In the\nmeantime\, his latest 'Koonyum Sun' CD has managed\nto make its way here (via Pias). Permit us to simply pick up\nthe thread from the start of 2010 below (you're already\non the way to our 'X-saviour' anyway\, aren't\nyou?) 'Koonyum Sun'! That's the title of the new\nXavier Rudd CD. Finally! Apparently also somewhat lighter\nmaterial again\, following the overwhelming trip on his\nprevious album 'Dark Shades Of Blue'. Versatile\nXavier currently plays primarily with Tio Moloantoa (bass)\nand Andile Nqubezelo (drums). Both ex - Lucky Dube\, that\nrather legendary South African act. So at the moment\nit's: Xavier Rudd & Izintaba!Meanwhile\, for the\nXavier Rudd first-timers\, just a quick recap of some\nprevious praise? Hypnotizing and perfect for those who love\nadventurous music. Xavier Rudd is from Australia but the\nworld is his oyster\, and clearly that world must still last\nan eternity. Living organic and healthy are the keywords\,\nbut Xavier Rudd does package his messages well\, with\nhonesty and craftsmanship. A deep\, socially involved but\nequally grooving and exciting musician and\, quite\nliterally\, a multi-instrumentalist: solo he can do all\nsorts of things at the same time\, with plenty of respect\nfor nature and the Aboriginal culture\, thus with didgeridoo\n(alias the yirdaki) plus percussion\, harmonica and guitar\n(preferably the Weissenborn.) You can still class Xavier\nRudd along side Ani DiFranco\, Jack Johnson\, Daniel\nLanois\, Donavon Frankenreiter... in that inspired section.\nWhat a performance trip!    Support act will this time also\nbe semi-fragile but in fact seriously unique Ben Howard. A\nrather pale British surfer\, but above all: his melancholy\nvocals and special way of playing guitar are most stirring!\nHe couldn't be here last time due to an interruption in\ntrain services but it then suddenly became very apparent\njust how many devoted fans Ben already has himself. Rightly\nso too!                                                     \n
