With the spare instrumentation. We want to\nshout Karen Dalton\, Emiliana Torrini and CocoRosie. Or\nMariee Sioux. Not as the perfect comparison but rather\nbecause we think that Love Like Birds has something just as\nunique. Last year there was an untitled\, self-released EP\nin a hand-numbered issue of only 500 copies. “For\nblooming\, breaking\, broken and mended hearts” was what\naccurately appeared in the liner notes. Radio 1 and StuBru\nfollowed suit with airplay. There was also a show in the UK\nas support to Dark Dark Dark. Balthazar and The Bony King Of\nNowhere are fans. We're in love too. Or did we mention\nthat already? 9:30 pm - Tommigun (b)Avant première of the\nnew album by this band from Brussels. Tommigun will be\nreleasing their long awaited second issue after the summer\n(via Excelsior) and that could well be the moment of truth.\nProduction-wise\, their new album was in the hands of Koen\nGisen. He's been consistently making the difference\nlately\, with work by the likes of The Bony King Of\nNowhere\, Kiss The Anus Of A Black Cat and Flying Horseman.\nWe've already been able to enjoy a foretaste of the\nalbum and heard charmingly pure songs in which the voices of\nThomas Devos and Kaat Arnaert blend more beautifully than\never before. Earlier this year they toured Europe as the\nbacking band of lo-fi king Daniel Johnston\, now entirely in\ntheir own rite and\, especially for the Feeërieën\,\ncomplemented by strings.
