SUMMARY:Therapy? - Special 'Troublegum' + More Show
LOCATION:AB Grote zaal (Anspachlaan 110\, 1000 Bruxelles)
DESCRIPTION:To celebrate their twentieth anniversary\, the Northern\nIrish combo Therapy? have planned a whole range of special\nactivities. Among them are a number of exclusive concerts\nduring which the band will play their ‘Troublegum’ album\nfrom start to finish. This means you will hear some songs\nwhich have never\, or rarely\, been played live before. And\nthe diverting description ‘+ more’ undoubtedly means a\nlot of other classics from the Therapy? discography will be\naired.‘Troublegum’ was the band’s second album for\nmajor label A&M Records and came out on 7 February 1994.\nIt was a fairly dark and occasionally metallic album which\ncontained a cover of ‘Isolation’ by Joy Division.\n‘Troublegum’ is considered the artistic and commercial\nhigh point of the career of the band based around Andy\nCairns and Michael McKeegan\, and a million copies were\nsold. Formed in 1989\, Therapy? released their debut two\nyears later. Their breakthrough in this country was the\nalbum 'Nurse' (the predecessor of ‘Troublegum’)\nand acquired massive status later with the single\n'Nowhere'\, not forgetting their intense version of\nHüsker Dü's 'Diane'. In 2004 Driving Dead\nGirl was invited to perform at the Dour festival\, a first\nimportant step to success. A first CD ‘50 000 Dead Girls\nCan't be wrong’ (Bang!) followed\, with JF Hermand on\ndrums and Andre Diaz on bass. In 2008 the future was not\nlooking so bright until drummer Vincenzo Capizzi and bassist\nDaniel Diaz join the band. Then new proposals for\nsupport-acts presented themselves (for the likes of Black\nRebel Motorcycle Club and Lords of Altamont)\, concerts that\nuphold the band's excellent live reputation. In January\n2010 the quartet began the production of a second CD\n‘Don't Give a Damn about Bad Reputation’. 10 songs\nconfirming their raw energy\, influenced by film and\nliterature and drenched in alcohol induced adventures of the\namorous kind. \n \n\nhttps://www.abconcerts.be/en/agenda/therapy-special-troublegum-more-show/a105J000001wghNQAQ
