For almost tow hours\,\nthe German group showed what wonderful things can be created\nfrom the fusion of melodious guitar-rock and\nelectronica." (De Morgen\, at the time of the latest\nNotwist visit to the AB)Without a doubt\, The Notwist still\nbelongs to the crème de la crème of what is happening\nmusically for our Eastern neighbours (see also:\nEinstürzende Neubauten\, Rhythm & Sound\, the\nRaster_Noton family\,…). Stronger still: They’ll\ndefinitely be celebrating their twentieth anniversary\n(indeed\, the band was established in 1989\, though their\nbreakthrough only came in 2002 with classic ‘Neon\nGolden’) in style. Their latest album\, in ’08 ( ‘The\nDevil\, You + Me’ ) with associated live-shows\, certainly\ncollected commending reviews internationally. To heighten\nthe challenge\, The Notwist now head off onto the road with\nthe Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra. This twenty-member\norchestra is specialised in bizarre interpretations of\nmodern jazz and could already be heard on the masterpiece\n‘The Devil\, You + Me’. Their most recent album ‘Take\nOff’ was also released via Alien Transistor\, the label of\nThe Notwist. The live-première of this unique collaboration\nalready took place in 2008 and it gave them a taste for\nmore. The result: The Notwist & Andromeda Mega Express\nOrchestra will pick up the thread of this show again\, just\nthree more times. Only in Berlin\, Paris and Brussels. You\nknow what you need to do ...
