SUMMARY:T.C.Matic - T.C.Matic
LOCATION:AB Salon - zittend (Steenstraat 11\, 1000 Brussels)
DESCRIPTION:Please note that this is NOT a concert but a\nlistening-session! Book your tickets at\nreservationshuis23@abconcerts.be (subject TC Matic) \n T.C.Matic\, T.C.Matic\, 1981 /Parsley/Statik/EMI The\ndebut by the ground-breaking T.C.Matic\, from Ostend and\nsurrounding areas. Predominantly ex-Tjens Couter\, so with\nthe unadulterated voice of Arno\, the tight driving\nrhythm-tandem Rudy Cloet & Ferre Baelen\, plus keyboard\nall-rounder Serge Feys and guitar-researcher Jean-Marie\nAerts. Containing Oh La La La\, of course\, but also Viva\nBomma\, Bye Bye Till The Next Time\, L’ Union Fait La\nForce\, With You… Particularly\, with that overwhelming\nsound and the (not only for those days) unique production by\nJean-Marie Aerts. Plus that cover\, that torso and that logo\nby Danny Willems. It was all perfect. Ex-T.C.Matic\ntour-manager and AB-promoter Marc Decock digs\, in his best\nDutch\, back to the album of 1981. 33 1/3 –\nClassic Album Listening SessionsThe idea behind Huis 33 1/3\nis as simple as can be: music lovers gathering to listen to\na 'classic' album - uninterrupted and in the most\nideal circumstances possible (technical equipment\,\nsurroundings\,..) - always introduced by an adept of the\nalbum in question. With this new series\, we want to offer\nan alternative to the way the musical experience has evolved\nover recent years. By listening to considerably compressed\nmp3’s\, YouTube films\, or to sites like Spotify with\nsmall small earplugs or via laptop speakers\, we obliviously\nmiss essential elements of the music. Many albums were\ncreated as an artwork in themselves and so deserve to be\nlistened to in their entirety. A great deal of attention was\noften paid to obtaining the best possible sound quality\,\nthe artwork\, the order of the songs\, the mood of the songs\nand the ‘story’ the artist wanted to involve the\nlistener in. In many cases\, no effort was spared to record\nthe albums in the best studios\, in order to make use of the\nbest sounding mixing tables\, microphones\, pre-amps\,\ncompressors\, reverbs\, etc... All of this is completely\ndestroyed in a few mouse-clicks.During the 33 1/3 sessions\nwill will listen to an album in its entirety - without\ninterruption and with the best possible technical means -and\nin this way attempt to experience the album as it was\noriginally intended to be heard when it was recorded\,\nmastered and released.
