The unique thing about this\ncuratorship is that this AB-curator not only functions as\nprogrammer\, but also forms the theme (as performer but also\nas part of the collaborations on stage). In '04 MAURO\nPAWLOWSKI took on the first edition. Last year it was the\nturn of internationally renowned choreographer WIM\nVANDEKEYBUS. This year ZITA SWOON frontman STEF KAMIL\nCARLENS has the honour.    Watch Stef Kamil Carlens playing\nBob Dylan on ABtvStef Kamil Carlens is no unknown to the AB.\nHe's been here before with dEUS (during the Rock\nRally)\, Zita Swoon\, the dance show 'Plage\nTattoo'\, the film project 'Sunrise'\, Kiss My\nJazz and also solo during the Saint Amour literary evening.\nHe'll compile an exciting programme for the AB\, a mix\nof music (from classic to pop)\, images and spoken word. On\nthe programme for SATURDAY 22 NOVEMBER: THE GATES OF EDEN:\nStef Kamil Carlens plays BOB DYLAN (B) The central\nattraction of the programme is titled 'The Gates Of\nEden'\, in which Stef Kamil Carlens applies himself to\nBob Dylan's oeuvre\, together with Arno's backing\nband. In '06 he presented this programme in Oostende for\nTheater Aan Zee. De Morgen wrote: 'SKC beklijvender dan\nDylan zelf.' De Standaard: 'Elke song klonk als\nherboren. ... Het getuigde van vakmanschap\, van durf en\npassie.' This programme can only be seen this autumn in\nthe AB and at Crossing Border in The Netherlands. The Golden\nGlows (B) The GOLDEN GLOWS\, from Antwerp\, are also guests\n(and what a discovery!)\, dealing in vocal magnificence (1\nsinger/guitarist - 2 female vocals) with songs from the\n'20's. Focus Knack wrote of the album 'A\nFolksongbook': 'Een gloedvolle luisterplaat die\npotten en af en toe ons hart weet te breken'. Have given\nmore than 100 performances by now. Prima Donkey (B)\nOccasional project PRIMA DONKEY sprouted from the minds of\nGunter Nagels (Donkey Diesel frontman) and Rudy Trouvé\n(Dead Man Ray\, The Love Substitutes). Musical keywords:\nindustrial-acoustic\, blues\, klezmer\, bossa nova and a few\nother things that they haven't quite found names for\nyet. Rodaan Al Galidi (Irak/Nl) RODAAN AL GALIDI already\nmade an impression in the AB earlier this year\, during\nSaint Amour's literary programme. SKC was immediately\nimpressed by this poet\, writer\, Iraqi and columnist who\ncurrently resides in The Netherlands. Cheval Blanc (Fr) The\nParisian songwriter CHEVAL BLANC however is a new discovery\nand will appear solo. This singer-songwriter is not afraid\nto experiment\, is the alter-ego of Jérôme Suzat and runs\nthe small artisan factory that is Aristocrate Records. Blue\nFlamingo (Nl) Let's meet the night festively with BLUE\nFLAMINGO - alter-ego of Rotterdammer Ziya Ertekin? He's\naddicted to 78 rpm records and his superb mix-album\n'Blue Flamingo 78 r.p.m.' is a timewarp to the\n'30's in which jazz\, exotica and mambo reign.\nUnique and wonderfully crackly to boot. For those who think\nthat MP3's and CD's sound good: refresh yourself\nwith the real shit!
