Efterklang + The Kissaway Trail +\nCody + Chimes & Bells     SPOT ON DENMARK (which has\nreceived the logical title SPOT ON DENMARK IV) is\, for the\nfourth year in a row\, presented by AB in collaboration with\nROSA (The Danish Rock Council)\, the SPOT festival and MXD\n(Music Export Denmark). As ever\, Spot On Denmark still\npresents (in one evening) promising Danish acts that\nappeared earlier this year at the showcase festival SPOT in\nAarhus and were selected by a jury of Belgian journalists\,\nprogrammers and managers. Previous guests have already been\nMURDER\, FAGGET FAIRYS\, I GOT YOU ON TAPE and\nSLARAFFENLAND. This year we move from the familiar ABClub to\nthe ABBOX with a stunning headliner: EFTERKLANG. Also\npresent: 7:00 pm - 7:35 pm Chimes & BellsChimes &\nBells is the soulchild of 26-year-old\nsinger/cellist/multi-instrumentalist Cæcilie Trier. Their\nmusic sways between noise rock\, art pop\, shoegazer and\nr&b. They've already opened for the famous Beach\nHouse. Their debut is soon to be released\, immediately\ninternationally too\, on the famous Bella Union label (see:\nFleet Foxes\, The Low Anthem\,…). 8:00 pm - 8:35 pm\nCodyCody can best be described as alt.-country and is based\naround singer Kaspar Kaae. This septet has already opened\nfor Black Francis\, The National\, Bonnie 'Prince'\nBilly and Tindersticks. In '09\, their debut ‘Songs’\nwas voted album of the year by no less than 3 national\nDanish newspapers. Their set at Spot could certainly be\ncalled impressive. 9:00 pm - 9:40 pm The Kissaway TrailThe\nKissaway Trail sum up their greatest influences as Sonic\nYouth\, Grandaddy\, Daniel Johnston\, Pixies and The Beach\nBoys. Their latest album ‘Sleep Mountain’ was already\nproduced by Peter Katis (Interpol\, The National) and\nreleased by the prestigious Bella Union label. NME rewarded\nthem with a 8/10 and wrote: “the result is nothing short\nof stunning.” 10:00 pm - 11:15 pm EfterklangAn impressive\nheadliner\, Efterklang! This year at the Spot festival they\nplayed together with Slaraffenland in the situational\nproject Slaraffenklang. Latest album ‘Magic Chairs’ is\nat once their breakthrough album to a wider audience. Focus\nKnack wrote: “What the likes of ‘White Blood Cells’\nwere for The White Stripes and ‘Með Suð Í Eyrum Við\nSpilum Endalaust’ for Sigur Rós\, that is what Magic\nChairs could well be for Efterklang: the definitive\nbreakthrough to the mainstream and The Broader Public.”\nNot yet convinced?
