DESCRIPTION:dEUS adds two extra concerts to the series ◄ ◄\nREWIND: dEUS plays ‘The Ideal Crash’ (’99)    A\nsurprise to all: within barely 24 hours\, no less than\n10\,000 (!) tickets were sold for dEUS plays ‘The Ideal\nCrash’ (‘99) as a part of the ◄ ◄ REWIND series in\nwhich a Belgian classic is played live\, in its entirety.\nThe speed of these ticket sales is reasonably rare by AB\nnorms but simply reinforces the assertion that ‘The Ideal\nCrash’ is etched in collective memory.    To meet demand\,\ndEUS has added two extra concerts – namely SUNDAY 26 and\nMONDAY 27 MAY – to this already impressive series.   \n‘The Ideal Crash’ – the third and highly praised dEUS\nalbum – has been around for 20 years now and that’s\nsomething to celebrate! In no small way either! With a\ncomplete performance – from start to finish – of this\nabsolute dEUS classic\, actually. From the (frankly genius)\nfirst track ‘Put The Freaks Up Front’ to the musing\nlast one ‘Dream Sequence #1’. Tom Barman about the\nalbum: ‘Als er ooit een moment komt om een album in de\nkijker te zetten\, dan is het ongetwijfeld ‘The Ideal\nCrash’. Het was een bijzonder belangrijke plaat voor ons\ndie meteen de standaard hoog legt voor de nieuwe dEUS-songs\ndie we na afloop ook zullen spelen.’    ‘The Ideal\nCrash’ was produced by Canadian producer David Bottrill\n– also producer for Tool\, The Smashing Pumpkins and David\nSylvian\, amongst others – who would later handle dEUS’\nsecond last album ‘Keep You Close’. ‘The Ideal\nCrash’ adorned many a year-end chart in ‘99 and even\nmade it into the top 20 of Oor’s Top 100 Of All Time\,\nfinely flanked by Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall’ and\nRadiohead’s ‘Kid A’.    Guy Garvey (Elbow) still\nconsiders the wonderful single ‘Instant Street’ to be\none of his most favourite songs of all time. And\, 20 years\nlater\, ‘Instant Street’ still ranks in the top 15 of\nthe most recent BelPop 100 (the ranking of the best Belgian\nsongs\, as chosen by listeners of Radio 1).     To coincide\nwith dEUS plays ‘The Ideal Crash’\, the album will be\nre-released in a re-mastered version and the band will be\nplaying – long live the symbolism! – no less than 20\nconcerts throughout Europe. Brand new guitarist Bruno De\nGroote is part of it all\, of course. Together with the rest\nof dEUS\, he will soon dive into the studio for the\nrecording of their 8th album.    Just as the previous\nartists to appear in the ◄◄ REWIND series\, dEUS will\nbe lauded with an official ceremony in the Steenstraat as a\ntribute to their contribution to Belgian (pop) music.      \n  ◄◄ REWIND    In 2007\, AB launched a timeless\nseries: ◄◄ REWIND. Central to this series are Belgian\nartists who perform ‘their classic’. Call it a milestone\nin their career\, or what’s more: a key album in Belgian\npop music. It is often – but not always – about albums\nthat are etched into collective memory. Call them points of\nreference in the Belgian music landscape. So each ‘pièce\nde résistance’ is performed in its entirety. Completely?\nThat’s right\, in the exact order that the artist wanted\n(or still wants) to tell his/her tale.  With\n◄◄ REWIND\, AB also contributes to the activation of\nBelgian musical heritage.
