Also clearly state the number\nof persons with whom you will be attending. Please note:\nthere is a maximum capacity of 50 people. So be quick. \n It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back – Public\nEnemyThe 2nd album by New York's hip-hop collective was\nimmediately spot on. Due to the unorthodox production\ntechniques of The Bomb Squad and Chuck D & Flavor\nFlav's controversial lyrics\, the album quickly received\na whole lot of attention and good reactions from press and\npublic. This translated itself into commercial success too\nand\, a year later\, more than 1 million copies had already\nbeen sold.David Fricke of The Rolling Stone described the\nalbum as ‘A molotov cocktail of nuclear scratching\,\ngnarly minimalist electronics and revolution rhyme ‘.The\nalbum is considered to be one of the most influential ever\nmade and with singles like ‘Bring The Noise’\,\n‘Don’t Believe The Hype’ or ‘Black Steel in The Hour\nof Chaos’ it's inevitable that it be included in the\n33 1/3 Classic Albums Listening Session. The session will be\nintroduced in Dutch by Pascal Garnier aka Krewcial. 33 1/3\n– Classic Album Listening SessionsThe idea behind Huis 33\n1/3 is as simple as can be: music lovers gathering to listen\nto a 'classic' album - uninterrupted and in the most\nideal circumstances possible (technically\,\nsurroundings\,..) - always introduced by an adept of the\nalbum in question. The intention of this new series is to\noffer an alternative to the manner in which the musical\nexperience has evolved over recent years. By listening to\nstrongly compressed MP3s\, YouTube films\, or to sites like\nSpotify\, with small earphones or via laptop speakers we\nmiss out on essential elements of the music\, often without\nrealising it. Many albums were created as an artwork in\nthemselves and so deserve to be listened to in their\nentirety. A great deal of attention was often paid to\nobtaining the best possible sound quality\, the artwork\,\nthe order of the songs\, the mood of the songs and the\n‘story’ the artist wanted to involve the listener in. In\nmany cases\, no effort was spared to record the albums in\nthe best studios\, in order to make use of the best sounding\nmixing tables\, microphones\, pre-amps\, compressors\,\nreverbs\, etc... All of this is completely destroyed in a\nfew mouse-clicks.During the Huis 33 1/3 sessions we will\nlisten to an album in its entirety – without interruption\nand with the best possible technical means – and in that\nway attempt to experience the album in the way originally\nintended when it was recorded\, mastered and released.
