DESCRIPTION:Dutch hip-hop MC goes solo and launches debutDutch hip-hop\nformation Pete Philly & Perquisite were running good\nodds: their ‘Mistery Repeats’ was at once the album\nmissing from the discography of A Tribe Called Quest or\nGuru’s Jazzmatazz and live they shared stages with Kanye\nWest (like in the AB in 2006)\, Saian Supa Crew and James\nBrown. Fast forward to 2011. Perquisite and Pete Philly part\nways and the latter is to release a solo debut this year\n(via Anti/PIAS\, on 30 September to be precise)\, one\nthat's been worked upon intensively for the past 2\nyears. A first family of ideas (well sort of) was to be\ndiscovered under the title ‘Open Loops’ via his website\nwww.petephilly.com and he refined them further with partner\nDJ PCM into an up-to-par and intense album entitled\n‘ONE’. On it\, Pete Philly proves\, once more\, that\nhe's no everyday musician but rather one that allows all\nhis interests (poetry\, philosophy\, art\, politics\, love)\na chance in his infectious lyrics and flows.
