SUMMARY:Owl City
LOCATION:AB Grote zaal (Anspachlaan 110\, 1000 Bruxelles)
DESCRIPTION:‘Fireflies’ was of course that megahit by America's\nOwl City\, the project of musician Adam Young. At the time\nhe was often compared musically with The Postal Service (the\nindietronica project of Death Cab For Cutie singer Ben\nGibbard and producer Jimmy Tamborello from Dntel) but then\nwith a distinct pop-chart feel. Young made his synthpop in\nthe basement of his parent's house and then spread it\nvia social-network site MySpace. His songs were so popular\nthat Universal Music promptly offered him a lucrative\ncontract. He released his third album ‘Ocean Eyes’ on\nthat major label in 2009\, on it you can find the\naforementioned ‘Fireflies’. We just recently saw the\nrelease of ‘Alligator Sky’\, the first single from album\n‘All Things Bright And Beautiful’ which should be out on\nJune 14. On that album Young experiments less with\nelectronica and works with guitar and piano too. Owl City\nwill bring along 2 support acts. British duo Long Lost Sun\nconsists of Sarah Russell and Jethro East and makes\nalternative but sugary-sweet pop songs. They also provided a\nnice remix of Owl City’s ‘Umbrella Beach’. Unicorn Kid\nis the nom de plume of young Scottish producer Oliver Sabin.\nHe makes 8-bit dance music (think first-generation video\ngame soundtracks) with a big wink to genres like dubstep.\nHas already shared stages with an extremely diverse list of\nmusicians like Crystal Castles\, Hadouken! and Pet Shop\nBoys. He's also provided official remixes for the Pet\nShop Boys and for Gorillaz. \n \n\nhttps://www.abconcerts.be/en/agenda/owl-city/a105J000001wglIQAQ
