Rightly so too\, as after their 'little club\nconcert' we read\, in De Standaard alone\, this header:\n'Noah and The Whale increase their impact. Just when\nfolk is now sexy again\, Noah and the Whale opt for a more\npolished pop sound. The change in direction gave them a big\nboost live.' There's even a rightful reference to\nthe also rather unique artistic route taken by Wilco on the\nABsite. What was it that we promised for their first visit\nto the AB? 'Sumptuous songs! The Brits from Noah and The\nWhale are on to their third CD and are increasingly\nrevealing themselves to be the most elegant colleagues of\nthose other alert folk-rockers Laura Manling and Mumford\n& Sons. After 'Peaceful\, The World Lays Me\nDown'\, their passionate debut from 2008 and the\nappealing 'The First Days Of Spring'\, they've\nnow completed 'Last Night On Earth' (via V2). British Q Magazine\nalready spoke of 'utterly enchanting'\, and NME of\n'romantic folk with an epic scope'.
