SUMMARY:Milow
LOCATION:AB Grote zaal (Anspachlaan 110\, 1000 Brussel)
DESCRIPTION:Milow can quite definitely be listed as one of our hardest\nworking and most internationally successful performers.\nHe's played 300 concerts in 20 different lands over the\npast 3 years\, including sold-out venues in Amsterdam\,\nBerlin\, Paris\, Luxembourg\, Madrid\, Zurich\, Montreal\,\nVienna and Stockholm. On top of that\, Jonathan Vandenbroeck\nhas also finished enough songs for a new album\, which will\nbe released in spring. The title of his third and\nlong-awaited studio album is ‘North and South’ and he\nproduced it himself\, together with Jo Francken. What's\nmore\, in the liner notes we see contributions from Arne\n‘Styrofoam’ Van Petegem and Scottish singer-songwriter\nduo Martin & James. That album will be released all over\nEurope and in Quebec and will later also be available in\nEngland\, the United States\, Australia and Latin-America.\nMilow is indeed still that talented singer-songwriter who\ncombines folk with acoustic pop. His unmistakable voice\,\nfascinating stories and stage presence make him one of our\ngreater performers. He's coming to publicly present the\nnew album live\, with 2 concerts in the AB on Wednesday 27\nand Thursday 28 April.Following a first success with the\nsingle ‘You Don’t Know’\, the international\nbreakthrough came with his much talked about version of 50\nCent's ‘Ayo Technology’. The song totalled 340 weeks\nin the charts of 14 countries. A good 2 years later and the\ncounters in Europe and Canada show sales of 650\,000 albums\nand more than 1 million singles. Milow's albums and\nsingles have spent time in the upper regions of the charts\nin France\, Germany\, The Netherlands\, Switzerland\,\nItaly\, Denmark\, Austria\, Portugal\, Finland\, Spain\, and\nalso Canada. In homeland Belgium\, Milow is also\nrecord-holder of the Music Industry Awards (M.I.A.’s)\,\nwith 8 trophies\, including 2 for ‘song of the year’. It\nwas just recently announced that the first single from the\nnew album\, ‘Never Gonna Stop’ will be the campaign song\nfor Music For Life\, Studio Brussel's yearly\nfund-raising effort. Support act for both Milow shows\nwill be Scottish singer-songwriter duo Martin & James.\nIn 2008 they were picked up by Universal Germany and since\nthen they've mainly been working out of Berlin and\nHamburg. Their particular work methods earned then\ncollaborations with Albert Hammond\, Fran Healy (from\nTravis) and Iain Archer (Snow Patrol\, The Reindeer\nSection). This year they'll finally be releasing a\nproper debut album. Martin Kelly and James O’Neill also\nprovided a guest contribution to the new Milow album and as\na result Milow has invited them to perform for both AB\nconcerts. \n
