DESCRIPTION:Luka Bloom & band = 'already extremely unique\nsolo' Luka Bloom + Dave Hingerty (drums\, see also The\nFrames) + Joe Csibi (bass\, and see also the string parts on\nthe Luka's latest CD). Our favourite Irishman has indeed\nreleased a new CD: 'Eleven Songs'\, his twelfth\nalbum already\, again on his own Big Sky Records (here via\nV2). Autumn 2008 he toured solo for sold-out halls here in\nBelgium. In between he also performed 'with band' in\nVicar Street\, Dublin. Now that unique concert can be\nexperienced exclusively in the AB\, for his\, deservedly\,\ncountless fans. For the Luka-layman we'll just quickly\nrecap: 'turbo-troubadour'\, real name Barry Moore\n(so the brother of Christy) and this passionate\nsinger-songwriter has been active for more than a quarter\ncentury now. His career really got started with the album\n'Riverside' from '90. There was that immensely\nsuccessful\, toned-down version of the rap-hit 'I Need\nLove'. Those who have already (many times) experienced a\nLuka Bloom performance\, or know the live-CD\n'Amsterdam'\, they know how inventive and fierce he\ncan be live. More importantly\,\nhe played bass and arranged strings on Between the Mountain\nand the Moon for me in 2001.
