ROBERT LIPPOK (TO ROCOCO ROT) +\nSTRING SEXTET Composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi was\nalready an established name outside his Italian homeland but\nsince the start of this year the man is also admired here.\nFollowing 2 sold-out concerts in Brussels and Brugge and\npraise from various media\, this contemporary minimalist\nonce again returns to Belgium for an exclusive concert in\nthe AB. Aside from his musical electronica partner Robert\nLippok (known from the German experimental post-rock group\nTo Rococo Rot) he will also be bringing a string sextet.\nThis concert will embody the ultimate mix of classic\,\navant-garde and modern. Ludovico Einaudi began his career\nwith a number of compositions for orchestras and chamber\norchestras that were soon performed at famous locations like\nTeatro alla Scala\, The Queen Elisabeth Hall and The Center\nfor Performing Arts in Los Angeles. From the 80's on he\nwandled new paths and permitted more emotion into his music.\nWorld and Pop music found their way into his writers\nexistance and since then he's also found his way into\nthe footlights personally. This self-proclaimed minimalist\n(he refers to Michael Nyman and Philip Glass) likes to work\nwith the French rock musician Yann Tiersen just as much as\nthe Malinese kora-player Ballake Sissoko. His latest CD is\ntitled 'Divenire' and thanks to the similarities\nbetween acousitic and electronic it reminds one of\nRadiohead's experimental work.
