SUMMARY:Life of Agony + AqME
LOCATION:AB Grote zaal (Anspachlaan 110\, 1000 Brussel)
DESCRIPTION:Life of Agony\, the American alternative-metal band around\nsinger Keith Caputo and guitarist Joey Z.\, recently did a\nnumber of shows in which they played their debut album\n‘River Runs Red’ from 1993. They liked the idea so much\nthat they're undertaking a European tour with it\, and\nof course the line-up will be completed by bassist Alan\nRobert and Type-O Negative drummer Sal Abruscato. That tour\nwill be making a stop in the AB on Saturday 3 April 2010. \nI Scream Records is very excited and proud to welcome Life\nOf Agony to the family. On Saturday April 3rd 2010 I Scream\nRecords will be recording & filming Life Of Agony's\nperformance at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels\, Belgium\,\nthe second show of their exclusive European "20 Years\nStrong" tour. In late 2009 the band performed their\ndebut album "River Runs Red" in its entirety\nduring a few exclusive\, sold out\, US shows and now\, after\npopular demand\, they're also heading over to Europe to\nperform a set built around this amazing\, legendary album.\nThe release of this "20 Years Strong" live album\,\nwhich will also include a free bonus DVD of the complete\nshow at the Ancienne Belgique\, exclusive footage and much\nmore\, is set for early this Summer. Crossover-metal kings\,\nLife of Agony\, formed in the summer of '89 and quickly\nbuilt a cult-following upon the release their now classic\,\ndebut album\, "River Runs Red" released through\nRoadrunner Records. The band's unique sound and honest\nlyrics have captivated audiences for two decades now. In\ncelebration of this huge milestone\, the group has been\nperforming the record that started it all!! "We're\nreally excited to capture this moment in time. Twenty\nyears\, man\, that's no joke! If you would've asked\nus when we were kids growin' up in Brooklyn\, if we\nthought that we'd ever make something this important to\npeople around the world\, we probably would've laughed\nin your face. But\, here we are\, still selling out shows\nafter all this time and turning people's tragedy into\nhope. Somehow\, through the music\, we've helped a lot\nof folks out there. And that's what's always been\nmost important to us." - LOA Bassist\, Alan Robert \nAqME (with a lower-case q) is currently the reference point\nin French metal. They've been operating from capital\nParis since 1999 and\, following an EP ‘University Of\nNowhere’ \, their debut ‘Sombres Efforts’ was released\nin 2002 - produced by Swede Daniel Bergstrand (Meshuggah\,\nIn Flames). Following the albums ‘Polaroids &\nPornographie’ and ‘La Fin Des Temps’ there came a live\nCD/DVD that was partly recorded during their ABconcert of\n2006. Afterwards the band returned to its love for\nBergstrand’s work and with him they recorded ‘Heresie’\n(2008) and the brand-new ‘En l’Honneur de Jupiter’.\nDuring the last 2 albums the band has enriched their sound\nwith typical classic rock elements (think Led Zeppelin\,\nNirvana\, Black Sabbath and QOTSA) and they even wrote a\nduet with Indochine\, which they've also regularly\nplayed live. Panic Cell from Britain will be opening the\nevening. This metal band has toured previously with bands\nlike Mudvayne and Disturbed and will be releasing a new\nalbum in April. \n \n\nhttps://www.abconcerts.be/en/agenda/life-of-agony-aqme/a105J000001wgdfQAA
