SUMMARY:Karen Elson
LOCATION:AB Club - staand (Anspachlaan 110\, 1000 Brussel)
DESCRIPTION:Because of the specific demand of Karen Elson herself\, the\nconcert will start at 8pm sharp. There will be no support\nact. The KAREN ELSON concert scheduled for SUNDAY 26\nSEPTEMBER has been moved forward to WEDNESDAY 22 SEPTEMBER.\nAB is one of the lucky ones\, as the Karen Elson September\ntour has been cut in half. By moving this date\, however\,\nAB is able to ensure a Belgian visit\, and the itinerary now\ntakes in only London\, Brussels\, Berlin and Paris. Karen\nElson is - following another cancellation earlier this year\n- aware of this inconvenience and has issued this statement\nfor the organisers and fans: Dear Friends and Fellow\nRascals\,I have some news about my upcoming tour in Europe.\nI sadly have to cancel some shows and reshuffle a few\nothers. While there is no volcano clouding up the skies this\ntime\, I'm having a metaphoric ash cloud of my own at\nthe moment\, and would like to explain my reasons in hope\nthat you may understand. The next few months are going to be\nvery hectic\, between music\, motherhood and my fashion\ncommitments\, so sometimes the balance gets uneven. The\nschedule for my tour and the months beyond were beginning to\nconflict with the time I spend with my children\, and in\norder to juggle everything and stay sane I had to reshuffle\nthese dates. The dates below are the new tour dates. I'm\nvery sorry to the folks who have already purchased tickets\nand for the inconvenience caused\, but I can't wait to\ncome back to Europe and play for my fans there. I want to\nthank you for your support and for enjoying these songs that\nhaunt me. Her name doesn't immediately ring a bell in\nmusical circles. However\, in fashion circles\, Karen Elson\nis a big name. In the past she's worked with famous\nfashion designers like Marc Jacobs\, Jean-Paul Gaultier and\nChanel. She's also adorned the much-desired covers of\nthe likes of Vogue\, Dazed & Confused and Elle. Her link\nwith musical circles? The White Stripes\, for whom she\nappeared in the ‘Blue Orchid’ clip and soon after meant\nsomewhat more... namely\, she became Mrs Jack White. Her\nintriguing voice could already be heard in her cabaret\nclique\, The Citizens Band\, and aside both Robert Plant and\nCat Power (with whom she covered a Gainsbourg song). In\nMay\, her debut ‘The Ghost Who Walks’ was released –\nproduced by dear husband Jack White – which shifted\nbetween traditional folk\, country & blues and a touch\nof drama. The fantastic single of the same name certainly\nalready presents a Karen Elson in top form. We've\nalready seen Mrs White at work at the showcase festival SXSW\nin Texas and will just quote our reporter on the spot:\n“What a beautiful voice and how stylish!” Be there on\ntime for Karen Elson's Belgian premiere (with members of\nThe Dead Weather and My Morning Jacket in her backing band)\nin the intimate ABClub\, there where dear husband Jack White\nalso made his Belgian debut in 2001 with The White Stripes. \n
