DESCRIPTION:'El Turista'\, that’s the title of his latest\,\nagain seriously hyped\, CD and\, from Josh Rouse\, you can\ntake that title literally… or as autobiographical. We’d\nlost track of him a little\, after many excellent AB\nexcursions and fine albums like '1972'\,\n'Nashville'\, 'Chester' (with Kurt\nWagner)… But olé\, what a relief: Josh Rouse turns out to\nstill be one of our favourite Americans in Europe and he\nstill makes brilliant songs from his new home in Valencia\,\nSpain. Love drove this man from Nebraska USA into the arms\nof a Mediterranean muse and so his releases have carried\ntitles like 'Subtitulo' (the previous one)\,\n'Valencia' (the recent EP) or 'El Turista'\n(the new CD\, that was then again recorded in Nashville!)\never since. He says himself: 'A Midwestern guy doing\nBrazilian songs in Spanish. I don't know if it fits\,\nbut I like the way it feels.' That’s what they thought\nover at Radio 1 too: CD of the week\, right from the start!\nSupport-act will be Claudine Muno from Luxembourg. She\nteaches\, writes books (successfully\, apparently) and\nfortunately also sings fresh\, bold songs (in English\,\nFrench or Luxembourgish). She mainly sings with The Luna\nBoots but the CD 'Petites Chansons Méchantes' was\nalready released two years ago under her own name\, soon to\nbe followed by the very promising 'Noctambul' (on\nthe Green L.F. Ant label\, see also: Monsoon and Superlux.)\nClaudine Muno’s voice is in any case a pleasure for those\nwho also enjoy Laura Veirs\, Neeka\, Edie Brickell\,\nJewel...
