Denmark's\nEfterklang sure knows how to continually reinvent itself...\nafter a good 10 years\, 400 concerts and three albums. With\nan insatiable desire for experiment\, the band is constantly\nbroadening its horizons. Not only in their music but also in\ntheir live shows\, where this collective often appears in\nchanging line-ups. Remember the Efterkids project with young\nmusicians (with which they were present in AB in ’10) or\nthe ‘Performing Parades’ project with which they\npresented their album ‘Parades’ (with The Britten\nSinfonia in ’09). The Guardian wrote of it at the time\,\nin a **** review:"An example of how a total integration\nof orchestral\, electronic & rock elements can bring\nrewards". Their recently released latest album\n‘Piramida’ also contained collaborations with Nils\nFrahm\, Peter Broderick and multi-instrumentalist Earl\nHarvin (Air\, Tindersticks\, The Frames\,…). To mark the\nrelease\, Efterklang will be touring under the moniker\n'The Piramida Concerts' and will perform worldwide\nwith a symphonic orchestra. The première took place in May\nat the famous Sydney Opera House with The Sydney Symphony.\nEfterklang will appear in Belgium with the Sinfonia\nRotterdam led by conductor Matthew Coorey. In order to\narrange this 'Piramida Concerts' for the show with\norchestra\, Efterklang worked with Daniel Bjarnason (Sigur\nRós\, Múm)\, Missy Mazzoli (Kronos Kwartet) and Karsten\nFundal (Under Byen) again. In the band you will find the\nlikes of multi-instrumentalist Peter Broderick and drummer\nToby Dammit (Iggy Pop\, Rufus Wainwright). Exclusively for\nAB\, Mads and Casper from Eftreklang will give an interview\nabout how the new album came into being\, how their most\nsuccessful tour has been going and what we can expect on\nthis evening.
