SUMMARY:Intergalactic Lovers
LOCATION:AB Grote zaal (Anspachlaan 110\, 1000 Brussel)
DESCRIPTION:This concert moves from the AB Box to the Main Hall to\nsatisfy on the demand for tickets. Belgians with a nose\nfor stunning pop music close a successful chapter in their\ncareer in the AB.Intergalactic Lovers will play their only\nend-of-year club show with a concert in the AB on Friday 2\nDecember and in doing so they conclude an unbelievably\nsuccessful period. Their debut ‘Greetings &\nSalutations’ received unanimous high praise from both\npress and public earlier this year and the singles\n‘Delay’ and ‘Shewolf’ were both radio hits. Their\nmix of melodious - sometimes intimate other times\nadventurous - pop music\, together with the unique voice of\nsinger Lara Chedraoui\, enchants both young and old. That\nwould explain why the version of ‘Delay’ that they\nrecorded for Studio Brussel has already been viewed more\nthan 200\,000 times on YouTube. As a result\, their concert\ndiary has also been coloured red with visits to festivals\nlike Les Nuits Botanique\, Cactus\, Dour\, Boomtown and\nLeffingeleuren. What's more\, the band was also assigned\nto writing the soundtrack for a long-play film based on the\npopular TV-series Code 37.‘The seven lean years in Flemish\nrock are not in sight’. (HUMO 3½ *)Intergalactic Lovers\nis the musical playground of Lara Chedraoui (vocals)\,\nBrendan Corbey (drums)\, Maarten Huygens (guitar) and Raf De\nMey (bass). The four-member company has diverse tastes\,\nages and roots: ranging from Lebanon and The Netherlands to\nNamen and Impe. The practical meeting point between all\nthese places is Aalst\, where the band rehearses. One of\nthe discoveries of the Reeperbahn showcase festival in\nHamburg in September 2010 was undoubtedly Hundreds. This\nGerman brother-and-sister duo blew the audience away with\ntheir blend of The Knife and Eurythmics. Eva and Phillip\nMilner describe themselves as a cross-pollination between\nthe icy aesthetics of Raster-Noton and the warm melancholy\nof Low. A voice\, a piano and minimal beats: a match made in\nheaven.
