SUMMARY:In Flames + special guest Trivium + Ghost + Rise To Remain +
Insense
LOCATION:AB Grote zaal (Anspachlaan 110\, 1000 Brussel)
DESCRIPTION:In Flames\, the Swedish metal sensation is back with a\nvengeance. They just signed to record label Century Media\nthat will soon be releasing their new album (entitled\n‘Sounds of a Playground Fading’). This melodious death\nmetal band is a pioneer in the genre\, together with bands\nlike At The Gates and Dark Tranquility (of which the\noriginal members also grew up in Gothenburg). Their previous\nalbum ‘A Sense Of Purpose’ was already a good reason to\ndrop by the AB in October 2008. This time they return to\npresent their latest album and\, as special guest\,\nthey'll be bringing along Trivium\, no less.Trivium is\nno unknown to the AB either. In May 2005 they played the\nABClub during the Road Rage tour and in April 2007 they\nfirst appeared on our main stage. Together with bands like\nCoheed & Cambria\, Killswitch Engage and Atreyu\, the\nband from Florida proves that you don't have to choose\nbetween metal and emo. Trivium’s trump card is charismatic\nsinger/guitarist Matthew Heafy who - together with guitarist\nCorey Beaulieu – exhibits his keen virtuosity in the\nmaking of songs. The band took a great leap forward with\ntheir album ‘The Crusade’ (2006) and now nestle between\nbig names like Metallica and Iron Maiden. As far as the\nsongs on ‘Shogun’ (2008) are concerned\, they also\nmention In Flames as an important influence. Trivium will\nalso have a new album finished soon too. Drama and\ndeath are the ingredients of Sweden's Ghost. You can\nkeep guessing as to the identity of this masked sixsome but\nthey're rumoured to be Entombed and Watain members. If\nblack metal had existed in the 70's then Ghost would be\nthe irrefutable spearhead of the scene. Britain's\nRise To Remain appeared here in December 2010 with Bullet\nFor My Valentine. This fivesome from London has been earning\nits stripes in the live circuit since 2008\, thanks to tours\nwith Trivium and festivals like Download and Sonisphere.\nThey describe themselves as melodic metal with elements of\ntrash and rock and at the microphone we of course recognize\nAustin Dickinson: the son of Iron Maiden frontman Bruce\nDickinson. Norway's Insense will open the evening\nwith their compact metalcore containing references to\nHatebreed\, Fear Factory and Entombed. Their new album\n‘Burn In Beautiful Fire’ was released last April. \n \n
